Promotional merchandise Road Shows are an excellent way for a company to find out about what’s new in the corporate gifts industry and to be able to touch and feel the items. This article discusses how a company who has a reliable supplier for their promotional items can organise such an event.
These days major companies do not want a large number of suppliers for any of their products or services and corporate gifts are no exception. Consolidation of supply saves time and of course money. Putting all their purchases into the hands of one supplier of business gifts means they can negotiate better prices and improved levels of service. Corporate merchandise programmes are very popular with large companies these days with more and more switching over from ad hoc purchases. By arranging for their corporate gifts supplier to have a range of pre branded promotional items on the shelf for a same day delivery means that they get a great service. As well as that they don’t have to commit any warehouse or office cupboard space nor do they have to pay for the goods until they want them. This is particularly relevant with promotional clothing where for example a range of printed T-shirts or embroidered polo shirts with a variety of sizes can take up a lot of space and tie up a lot of funds.
Once a promotional merchandise programme has been established it makes it very easy for a Road Show event to take place. These are sometimes called farmers markets and consist of a supplier arriving at an agreed location usually in the company headquarters. Often they are situated in the reception area where a good flow of traffic can be guaranteed. Equally popular is the staff canteen or restaurant as most people visit or both of these areas at some time during the business day.
The supplier usually lays out the range of promotional products (or whatever specific items they have bought along) on a couple of large tables and with a pair of pop up banners at the back to let people know what it’s all about. Free gifts or samples will often be provided, in many cases by the manufacturers of new or innovative products who are keen to get their wares shown.
It does not have to be general promotional items that are shown on such days. Often a company will have an event to publicise or maybe a company wide initiative that they want everyone to be involved in. The environment is obviously a big subject at the moment and when a company introduces a new Green policy they will often invite all the associated suppliers to come together to display what part in the policy they are playing. These suppliers could include the cleaning contractors who are using chemical free products or a corporate clothing supplier who shows a range of printed T-shirts to demonstrate their new Phalate Free screen-printing inks. Other Green promotional products could include environmentally friendly pens & pencils or E.Leather Conference Folders or even promotional bottled water in recycled bottles.
