There are a few conventional options. One is to go out to the local country and western bars and try to meet other singles. This has been a common way of meeting the opposite sex for ages and has worked for many people and something most of us have done at one time or another. If you’re newly divorced and middle aged your first instinct is often to return to your roots where you used to meet lots of single people, maybe even the person you married. Of course there’s always the hope a friend knows somebody they can set you up with, oh no not another blind date! Almost everyone has horror stories to tell about this scenario.

It has many obvious advantages, no need to waste your time and money going to crowded bars and clubs trying to avoid all the drunks. There is no guesswork involved whether the other person is single because it’s outlined in their profile exactly what they are seeking and you can get a fair perception if you share any common interests, before even deciding to contact them and start exchanging messages and chatting. It’s also less stressful and intimidating than approaching people in public, the only ones that will know about your pick up attempts are you and the person you sent a message to. And if they turn you down your not being rejected face-to-face and it’s doubtful you will ever see them in real life, so who cares!

Free sites will be loaded with banner advertisements, won’t operate as smooth, and will have more issues with cads, scammers and spammers sending you messages.
