Most people absolutely dread the thought of having to clean their bathroom. Why? Do you really need an answer to that? This is somewhat understandable but never-the-less it has to be cleaned. Since it has to be done you may as well just get it out of the way. The rest of the cleaning will be a cinch. Here are some tips to help you out.

Depending on how well you maintain your bathroom, it does have a tendency to smell bad. I won’t go into the reasons why, but if your bathroom has a foul odor, the first thing you should figure out is how to curb that awful smell. Leave out a box of baking soda with a few drops of essential oils to cover up and get rid of the smell for good.

Now that you know how to get the smell out, let’s move on to the cleaning. Some of the most exhausting places to clean are the areas where there is gross grime and soap scum. These places are usually in the shower or bathtub corners, and on the sides and bottoms of your bathroom sink. Mix vinegar and water in a spray bottle, spray on the dirty parts, and then use a little elbow grease to get the rest. Spray some of this blend onto a rag or towel or directly onto the affected area and then scrape it clean. This mix will also work to get the sticky messes of tooth paste off of the mirror as well.

What about the mildew that has assembled on your nice decorative shower curtains? Plastic and vinyl curtains are cheap to replace, so just throw them away. Silk shower curtains will go a long way in giving your bathroom a much needed face lift. Although that is costly and there is a cheaper way to get them clean. Bleach works great at removing mildew. Let it sit for a minute and then spray. This will help to ensure that the nasty mildew doesn’t return.

The last thing you need to clean is the toilet. As dreaded as this area is to clean, it is surprisingly easy to do. The commercial bowl cleaners work well for this job. Wear some rubber gloves if you are scared about touching it with your bare hands. Letting a half of a cup of mixture of vinegar and tree oil sit in the toilet for a few hours will help the toilet come clean. This will make it easier and will eliminate most of the stains and the smell.
